The Department of Fire Protection Engineering invites incoming engineering students for the fall semester, along with their families, to attend this special summer virtual information session to discover the best STEM major you've never heard of!

If you are not an incoming engineering student, please see the Visit UMD Fire Protection Engineering page for more summer information session opportunities.

Fire Protection Engineering (FPE) is a unique major offered in the Clark School of Engineering for students interested in a public-safety-oriented engineering career. With 100% job placement, 50% of FPE students on department/industry scholarships, and an average career salary of $119,000, this is a major you want to check out! In this one-hour virtual information session, you will hear from a current FPE student and an academic advisor about FPE career paths, courses in the major, and research opportunities. The session will end with a Q&A.

Register for the info session to receive the Zoom link, and learn more about the Fire Protection Engineering major.
