DULUTH, GA – July 12, 2007 – Jeff Robinson, CSP, P.E. recently led efforts to unite international standards of excellence for Safety & Health professionals during a meeting between the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and the Singapore Institute of Safety Officers (SISO) in Singapore on May 11, 2007. Mr. Robinson earned his BS in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1993. He is the Manager of Safety & Health Services at Harrington Group, Inc. and the current President of the BCSP.

The meeting between BCSP and SISO resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two organizations. The memorandum itself provides a base for united international standards of excellence because it recognizes the essential elements of education, experience, and examination standards held by both organizations. “The signing of this agreement with SISO reflects a shared commitment for global recognition of professional certification. Our success in bridging geographical and cultural barriers helps to ensure standards of excellence for ES&H professionals working within the international community,” said BCSP’s President, Jeffrey L. Robinson, CSP, P.E. “I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to the Singapore MOM for their invaluable support in this effort.”

SISO was created to represent Safety & Health professionals in Singapore. The organization seeks to establish professional development opportunities to enhance the competency of its members. SISO also promotes and upholds high standards of professional practice among Safety & Health professionals. For more information on SISO, visit www.siso.org.sg.
