To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the first chain reaction experiment which took place on December 2, 1945, the University of Maryland Radiation Facilities and American Nuclear Society Student Chapter are hosting a talk by John Coster-Mullen.
Over a period of 20 years, Coster-Mullen pieced together a full-scale replica of the Little Boy Uranium bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima. This led to the publication of his book titled Atom Bombs: The Top Secret Inside Story of Little Boy and Fat Man.
