Every year huge investments are made on construction projects in support of the Navy and Marine Corps' high-tech fleet of ships, aircraft, equipment, and personnel. At the center of these projects are a talented group of Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officers who help ensure that each initiative is conceived, planned, and completed on time, in budget, and according to specification. CEC officers also lead the Naval Construction Force, the Seabees, with a proud legacy of expeditionary and contingency construction supporting a range of operations from wartime construction to humanitarian assistance and disaster response. The community welcomes individuals from the breadth of engineering disciplines and architecture. If you’ve ever dreamed of building the most advanced military projects in history, the opportunity to join the Navy CEC awaits.

The CEC offers a collegiate program to eligible individuals, with the potential to earn over $90k annually while still in school for up to 24 months.

Come meet with UMD mechanical engineering master's student, Josh Schmidt, who is a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy's Civil Engineer Corps (CEC). He will highlight the benefits of the program for UMD engineers.
